One of the more interesting aspects of my job is helping people through difficult issues. It can be challenging at times, but the rewards are great. Seeing someone grab hold of faith and take those initial steps into God’s will is a nice feeling. I’ve recently talked to several people in various stages of trials and one common theme keeps coming up.
When I was in Detroit, my mentor Rev. Tom Downs would always say that the process is just as important as the product. That was such a positive statement, especially when things got rough. We often time only look toward the end result and forget that there are immense challenges that lie between where we are and where we are going. This is called the “process”. The Process is just as important as the Product. How we get there is just as important as the destination itself.
In practical terms, we want to get to a place where we trust God, so we must go through a process in which we develop trust in God. It would be nice if we could read the Bible and get the whole concept, but in reality how do you really know you trust in God unless you’re put into a position where you display your trust in God! This learning curve is called the Process.
The people I have spoken to are in various stages of the Process in their lives. Some are in the beginning, some nearing the end, but its the process nonetheless. You can’t complain about the process, its what God has chosen to get us where He wants us. I went through a process to get where I’m at today. At times it was frustrating, at times I battled depression and anxiety, at other times I felt I was just grinding out life, but in the end I’m glad I’m where I’m at. And when you find yourself there, glad you have what you have, how can you really complain to God about the process it took to get you there.
If its worth getting to, its worth the process to get there. If you could see easily the way, it wouldn’t require faith. And what has proven so true in my life … if it was easy, everyone would be doing it!

Thank you for being part of “the process” in my life. As you know God has used(and continues to use)you many, many times throughout the good and bad. It is exciting to see how God has worked in the “process” of your life as well. I love ya brotha.
Thanks brotha! Its no lie that I wouldn’t have made it in the ministry as long as I did at Gilead without you there! Its a blessing to share the “process” with those God brings in our path!
