Everyone needs to get away once in a while. It helps to keep your sanity, keeps you off the ledge! Getting around family and enjoying the holidays is a great way to refocus and get your bearings. Too often we go at life so hard we loose perspective about what God has been doing in our life, and this can be damaging to so many aspects of our whole self. Get away and rest, before its too late!
I hope you were able to relax this Christmas and reflect on how cool God has been in your life this year. He’s been very gracious to me and I’m humbled that He has positioned me and my family for a great year in 2012! It all hasn’t been a bed of roses, but life never is. It’s not about how smooth life can be, sometimes its about surviving and moving forward. In any regard, the stress of life puts an emphasis on regular rest. There’s a reason why God put such a strong emphasis on the Sabbath, we need to refocus every week, during the year, even on a daily basis.
I got mine, and I’m ready to get back at it! Hope you got yours too!
Amos is the pastor at Park Lake Drive Baptist Church in Waco, Texas. He is married to Mariah, and they have three children: Clay, Juliane, and Hannah. Mariah keeps Amos cool and up-to-date, while Amos keeps Mariah loose and occasionally frustrated.
